Artola is a 9 holes course with short flat fairways and oval greens. It is perfect both for beginners and expert golfers who wish to have a game without playing the whole round. It was built by Jorge Rein Mockiniay in 1964 helped by some relatives such as Jose Luis Varcárcel, Luis Rosillo and Juan Josi Gómez Raggio. The old Artola inn where stagecoaches used to change their horses when travelling from Madrid to Algeciras, Gibraltar and Cádiz was turned into the hotel in 1954. It was refurnished and modernised in 1974 and 1987 but it never lost its typical andalusian style.
