The club Golf Río Real opened in 1965 and was designed by the architect Javier Arana. It is only 3 km away from Marbella city center. The flat land of the course goes slowly downhill towards the sea. Trees are abundant all around the course affording shades under which golfers can have a rest during the hot summer days. It is a very comfortable course for players. Holes 4 and 5 are next to the sea and you have to cross a subway running under Málaga-Cádiz highway to get there. Hole 6, a par 3, requires an accurate shot from the tee in order to avoid the right hillside.
