What to see in Fuengirola

THINGS TO DO IN FUENGIROLA
Bathing on the beaches of Fuengirola

Another of the things to see in Fuengirola are its beaches, with more than 8 kilometres of beaches that border this municipality in Malaga. In total there are 7 beaches where you can swim.

Do you like water sports? You can rent a pedal boat or fly over the water. If you like quieter plans, you can rent a hammock and enjoy the sun’s rays.

Quieter areas of the beaches of Fuengirola? Carvajal and Torremuelle, if you don’t want to walk too far we recommend the train.

Visit the Roman archaeological site

We have already told you that there are many things to do in Fuengirola. The visit to the archaeological site is free and if you go with children they can get a diploma and a gift at the end of the tour.

The visit to both tours takes about 1 hour.

The park is open every day from 10am to 10pm.
The interpretation centre is closed on Mondays. Its opening hours are from 10am to 2pm and may vary in the afternoons.

Fuengirola History Museum

Fuengirola was founded by the Phoenicians. The Romans also left important monuments and remains. As did the Muslims. This museum is located in the Plaza de España and is closed on Mondays.

 

Visiting the old canyons

Have you heard of Sohail Castle? It dates back to the 10th century and is located on a small hill facing the coast, it is definitely one of the things to see in Fuengirola. You can take beautiful pictures next to one of its ancient canyons with the sea in the background.

Travelling with children? This is one of the best things to do in Fuengirola, as the animals live in a recreation of their natural environment. The Bioparc has a wide variety of species.

Stroll through the Natural Park by the river

It is one of the best known images of the town, and it is a luxury to visit this part of the city. A perfect place to practice sports, take a walk or sit down to enjoy a picnic.

If you like ping-pong, there are tables to play on! This area is also home to the well-known Parque de Poniente.

Have a drink in the Port of Fuengirola

You’ve probably heard of the marinas on the Costa del Sol. In the port of Fuengirola you can enjoy its boats and yachts, especially at sunset.

It has its origins in the 19th century and today has numerous restaurants.

Visit the Miramar Shopping Centre

Shopping? The Miramar Shopping Centre is all you need for a little entertainment. It has a Carrefour supermarket inside and numerous shops and activities for the little ones. It is very close to the Sohail Castle.

Walking around Fuengirola

This city is beautiful enough to be enjoyed simply by walking around, enjoying its people, streets, bars and terraces.
