The Malaga Fair 2026 is just around the corner. For one week, the city comes alive with music, tradition, gastronomy, flamenco, horses and activities for all ages. If you are visiting Malaga during these dates, here is a practical guide to the most important events, the best places to experience the celebrations and some of the things you should not miss.
When is Malaga Fair 2026?
The Malaga Fair 2026 will officially take place from Saturday 15th to Saturday 22nd August 2026. However, the celebrations will begin on Friday 14th with the Historical Parade, a spectacular drone show and the traditional fireworks display.
On Saturday 15th, the traditional pilgrimage to the Basilica of La Victoria will take place. Later that evening, Juan Francisco Funes, Malaga CF coach, will officially open the festivities with the traditional opening speech at the Real de Cortijo de Torres.
Two different fairs: the City Centre and Cortijo de Torres
One of the best things about the Malaga Fair is that it is actually experienced in two very different locations.
During the day, the historic city centre becomes the setting for the Feria del Centro. Calle Larios, Plaza de la Constitucion, Plaza de las Flores and the surrounding streets and squares fill with music, dancing and a lively atmosphere.
Traditional verdiales, one of the most characteristic forms of Malaga’s local folklore, will also have daily performances on Calle Larios.
As the afternoon arrives, the celebrations gradually move towards the Real de Cortijo de Torres, Malaga’s main fairground. Here you will find casetas, fairground rides, live music, shows and plenty of options to continue the celebrations into the evening.
This year’s programme includes almost 200 free performances and activities across different venues throughout the city.
Concerts you shouldn’t miss
The Municipal Auditorium at Cortijo de Torres will be one of the main music venues during the fair. The 2026 programme includes well-known artists such as Diana Navarro, David de Maria, Medina Azahara, Nancys Rubias, Zenet, Antonio Carmona and Paloma San Basilio.

- 15 August: Encarni Navarro and Diana Navarro.
- 16 August: Ana Romma and David de Maria.
- 18 August: Tabletom and Medina Azahara.
- 19 August: Hoffman and Nancys Rubias.
- 20 August: Tonia Rodriguez and Zenet.
- 21 August: Antonio Carmona.
- 22 August: Paloma San Basilio.
All concerts at the Municipal Auditorium are free to attend.
What should you eat and drink at the Malaga Fair?
Food and drink are an essential part of the Malaga Fair experience. If this is your first time at the fair, make sure you try some of the local favourites, including fried fish, porra antequerana, Malaga-style tapas, boquerones and the famous campero sandwich.
And, of course, you cannot experience the Malaga Fair without trying Cartojal, the sweet Malaga wine that has become one of the most recognisable drinks of the celebrations.
If you have time to explore beyond the fair, combine your visit with some sardine espetos by the sea. It is one of the best ways to discover Malaga’s traditional cuisine and enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere.
A few tips for enjoying Malaga during the Fair
If you are visiting Malaga from abroad, try to experience both the city centre and Cortijo de Torres. They offer completely different atmospheres, and both are an essential part of the Malaga Fair experience.
Keep in mind that Malaga welcomes thousands of visitors during these days, so planning your transport in advance can save you plenty of time.
