FAQ - Car Rental Malaga & Marbella

1. Can I choose the model of the vehicle?

Confirmations will be made of the selected group. You may add in your comments when reserving the preferred model which we will consider based on availability.

2. How do I pick up my rental car at Malaga's airport?

Important: Remember that we need the flight number in order to be waiting for you.

Once you have collected your luggage, go to the arrivals hall (PLEASE DON'T GO TO THE BASEMENT)

Exit the arrivals terminal. Once in the street follow the blue line on the ground.
Head towards the train station by walking under the elevated road..
Once you pass the train station, turn to the right. Marbesol's representative will be waiting there for you to get you to our facilities by minibus.

If your arrival is between 10 am and 10 pm, please look for and contact the Marbesol employee in the waiting area. In case you cannot find the employee or if your arrival is outside these hours, please call us at +34 687 740 019.

Dear customers, we would like to remind you that the only methods of payment for your car rentals will be at the time of booking through our website or once at the office, and you will not be able to choose any other method of payment than the one chosen at the time of booking

We will drive you from the airport to the Marbesol office which can take 3-5 minutes

3. How do I count the rental days?

A rental day equals 24 hours from the time you collect the car. There is a 2-hour courtesy margin on return; after that, one extra rental day is charged plus €35 for each day or part of a day of delay.

4. For how long can a car rental be?

Each rental lasts a minimum of one day and a maximum of 59 days. If you need the vehicle for longer, please contact our reservations department on +34 952 234 916 or at rentacar@marbesol.com.

5. How do I request an invoice?

You can ask for it at the moment of giving back the car, once they have been paid all the extra charges associated with the rental, facilitating our staff the corresponding fiscal data.

6. Who can drive the car?

The driver must be the owner of the rental agreement who must present his/her driving licence at the time of picking up the vehicle. A second driver shall be permitted always providing his/her personal data to our staff, as well as driving licence.

7. Can leave Spain with the car?

Yes, to Gibraltar and Portugal: every rental includes cover in mainland Spain, Gibraltar and Portugal. To take the car anywhere else (for example Ceuta, Melilla or the islands) you need prior written authorisation from Marbesol.

8. Do I need to leave a deposit or franchise to pick up my rental car in Malaga?

No. There is no deposit and no excess on any booking. When you collect the car, a pre-authorisation is held on the main driver's credit card. For premium vehicles, two credit cards are also required as a guarantee.

9. What is the procedure for extending a lease?

In case you want to extend your rental contract, you must visit one of our offices before your current contract expires, sign the extension agreement, and make the corresponding payments. Please note that vehicle availability may affect the extension. Extensions are not allowed over the phone, email, or text message. Any unilateral extension of the contract is considered unauthorized use of the vehicle and may have implications for the customer's liability for damages.

10. How far in advance should I book my rental car?

The minimum time for booking your vehicle must be 4 hours in advance, in the case of renting a car in Malaga and 24 hours if it is for a car rental in Marbella.

11. Can I modify or cancel the reservation of my car rental in Malaga?

For any change or cancellation, email us at rentacar@marbesol.com or call us on +34 952 234 916. If you cancel more than 48 hours before the pick-up time, you get a full refund with no charges; with less than 48 hours' notice there is no refund. Changes of date, category or return office are subject to availability.

12. What if I have not received the confirmation email for my reservation?

If your reservation has being done more than 24 hours ago and you have not received an email confirming it, probably it has been blocked by the anti-spam filter of your email.Check out if our e-mail is either in the spam or spam of your email. If so, configure your account so that your filter does not block emails from marbesol.com or rentacar@marbesol.com.If the confirmation email is NOT in the spam folder, send us an email reporting the incidence to rentacar@marbesol.com or contact us at +34 952 234 916.

13. What is the minimum/maximum age to rent a car in Malaga?

The minimum age is 21, with a valid driving licence recognised in Spain and held for at least 1 year. Drivers under 25 can rent vehicles in categories B, C, E and N and must take out additional insurance at €4/day (minimum €12, maximum €48). Drivers over 75 must also take out the same additional insurance at €4/day (minimum €12, maximum €48). Drivers from outside the EU need an international driving permit together with their original licence.
